Sustainable eLearning solution for compliance training in records management
Major global resource company
Mango has been providing training design, development, delivery and support services to this client for nearly a decade for a broad range of system implementations, business initiatives and operational programs.
A key project was the rollout of the client’s document management system, EMC’s Documentum, for the management of business value information, controlled documents and records management. A range of blended learning programs, including eLearning, were developed and delivered for 5,000+ participants across multiple remote mine sites.
The client’s software was undergoing a significant upgrade which required an overhaul of the eLearning modules for Document Control that Mango had helped develop on initial implementation several years earlier.
The client’s geographically dispersed document control managers and workflow performers meant face to face training this time around would be too expensive, impractical and not sustainable in the softening resources sector. Mango was asked to update several eLearning modules with the client’s eLearning technical build company.
Mango was responsible for the technical writing of two eLearning modules: one for Authors, Reviewers and Approvers and another for Document Controllers.
We mapped the changes required to align with the new upgraded system; revised the audio scripts and aligned it with the new functional action steps. We also set-up workflows and captured over 200 new system screen shots for the technical build as well as for a detailed supporting operations manual.
Mango met all deadlines and were commended on the quality of our work which reduced the QA time for sign-off to ensure go live commenced on time.
Our work has been the basis for all eLearning and supporting training material for the company’s document management system over several years.
Develop easy to use trainer and trainee resources using just the Operations Manuals and related documents as guides. Supervisors needed to be up-skilled in order to train effectively provided with resources and assessment tools that were easy to use as well as simple to follow reference guides for the equipment operators.
Mango executed the strategy providing planning and project implementation support for the internal project manager, User Acceptance Testing, data migration support and end‐to‐end training services for every department across all sites.
The project brief was to first develop a standardised Drill and Blast Design Guideline based on the best of current practice aligned with legislative requirements, and secondly, to develop an effective training package for the implementation and ongoing training of the Datavis DBS Drill and Blast Software.
This organisation needed the services of a team that could quickly learn how the system configuration and the business processes interacted and then design and deliver training that reflected this to ensure the successful transition from the old to new system.
The Senior HSEC Advisor approached Mango to assist based on Mango’s expertise in developing the Controlled Documents guidelines and procedures as part of the 1DOC implementation. The Mango team also had extensive knowledge of BHPBIO’s culture, systems and HSEC environment.
Our brief was to review current information and knowledge management practices, capture business requirements, develop a report that outlined process improvements and recommend governance practices, and align this to best fit EDRMS solutions that could meet the business’ current and future needs.
